Lewis Porter

HEAD COACH

Coach Porter has been with Leander Raiders Lacrosse for 13 years - eight of those years as the Head Coach for the High School Team.  In 2021, he was Central Texas Class D Coach of the Year.

Under his leadership, the Raiders were 2021 District Champs with 12 players receiving district awards, and the team placing 2nd place in 2022 with 10 players receiving awards.

During his 8 years as the high school coach, 11 former players have been recruited to play college lacrosse, joined college club teams or have coached.  His son who played for the Raiders was recruited to play at Dean College and played every game during his 4 year college career.

Those that know Coach Lewis, know that the awards and recognition are not why he coaches. He wants to make sure that every kid who wants to play the game of lacrosse gets the chance to do so. He wants players to gain confidence in their ability, find their home and build a love for lacrosse. He wants to see the lacrosse program continue to grow in Central Texas.

Marty volunteered as much as possible. Learning about the sport over many seasons, Marty has contributed as an Assistant Coach for several seasons. Marty was recently awarded the District Assistant Coach of the Year for helping Leander reach their first-ever District Championship. Helping his son and other players be recruited and transition to college teams is rewarding and motivates Marty to continue to help grow the team. Kent Jarvis

COACH - SENIOR YOUTH

Coach Kent has been with Leander Lacrosse since December of 2022, when his son started playing lacrosse as a 5th grader.  He spent the first few months shagging balls during practice, followed by a spring season learning about lacrosse.  By the end of that first season, he was helping the coaches with the younger kids during practices.  By summer of 2023, he was regularly leading practices for the middle school kids and would help out on the sidelines during games.

When he’s not watching lacrosse videos to learn more about the game, Coach Kent earns a living as a Product Manager for a software company.
